Training Objectives:

  • The quality training conducted at this department aims chiefly at providing the oil industry with well trained qualified technicians in the field of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
  • The training programmed covers a wide range of topics, and focuses specifically on:
  • Properly using refrigeration and air- conditioning equipment and tools.
  • Inspecting and identifying mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
  • Recovering, charging and recycling different types of refrigerants.
  • Dealing with environment-friendly refrigerants.
  • Reading and implementing refrigeration and air-conditioning electric and control circuits.
  • Assembling and installing refrigeration and air- conditioning components.

    To facilitate the achievement of the training objectives, the department is equipped with :
  • Refrigeration Workshop
  • Cold Rooms Workshop
  • Air-Conditioning Workshop
  • Electrical Applications Workshop
  • Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Laboratory
  • Refrigeration Workshop Students are trained on:.

  • Copper pipes works.
  • Silver Welding and Brazing.
  • Maintenance works of domestic and commercial refrigerators.
  • Different charging methods.

  • Cold Rooms Workshop

    Students practice the following:

  • Forming and installing copper pipes for cold rooms units.
  • Implementation of electric circuits.
  • Calibration of Control devices and super heat setting.
  • Carrying out evacuation and charging operations as well as conducting leak tests.

  • Air-Conditioning Workshop Students are trained to perform:

  • Maintenance and installation works for air- conditioners.
  • Carrying out evacuation and charging operations as well as conducting leak tests.
  • Air-Conditioning Electric and control circuits connections.

  • Electrical Applications Workshop At this workshop, Students practice:

  • Using electrical tools and equipment.
  • Reading and carrying out single and three-phase electric circuits.
  • Testing and inspection of electric motors.


  • Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Lab Students are trained to conduct a number of experiments for the purpose of:

  • Improving coefficients of performance.
  • Calculating heat loads.
  • Calculating flow rates.
  • Air sample specifications.
  • Monitoring physical changes of refrigerants.
