Training Objectives:

The training programme at this department is designed to equip the students with the skills necessary to carry out all electrical maintenance works specifically needed in the oil sector.

The training and practice conducted at this department focuses particularly on areas such as:

Soldering.

Control.

High voltage installations.

Conducting specification-related investigations of AC/DC machines

Replacement and installation.

Reading and analyzing schematic and wiring diagrams.

Properly using various electrical tools.

Industrial and Residential wiring.

Oilfield wiring installations

Training Vehicles

To facilitate the achievement of the training objectives, the department is equipped with :

A.C. Machines & Power Electronic Workshop.

Electrical and electronic control workshop.

Electric circuits and network workshop.

D.C machines Workshop.

High Voltage Laboratory.

AC Machines and Power Electronics Workshop Students are trained to conduct a number of experiments related to troubleshooting, installations, analysis and investigation.

Electrical and Electronic Control Workshop Students are trained to construct and analyze different diagrams. Enables students to design simple control circuits .

Electric Circuits and Network Workshop Students are trained to make simple network installations.

DC Machines Workshop Students are trained to conduct a number of experiments related to troubleshooting,installations, analysis and investigation.

High voltage Laboratory

Maintaining and operating step-up and step-down of sub-stations, high voltage motors.

Troubleshooting of overhead transmission lines.

High voltage Laboratory Connecting and disconnecting all high voltage circuit breakers.
