Training Objectives:

Through intensive practice, the quality of training offered at this department equips the students with the technical skills needed in the field of measurement and control processes in the oil industry. To further refine and enhance training, practice is particularly directed towards the following areas:

  • Adjusting;
  • Calibrating;
  • Troubleshooting;
  • Re-assembling and Testing a variety of measurement and control devices.

    Training Vehicles


    To facilitate the achievement of the training objectives, the department is equipped with :
  • Pneumatic workshop.
  • Electronic and Control Measuring Instruments Workshop.
  • Electronics Workshop.
  • Measurement and Control instruments Simulator.
  • Digital Workshop.


  • Pneumatic workshopStudents practice basic operations of pressure, temperature and flow measuring instruments.

    Electronic and Control Measuring Instruments WorkshopStudents practice adjusting, calibrating and maintaining different types of measuring and control instruments.

    Electronics WorkshopStudents conduct a number of basic electronic experiments using different Electronic Measuring Instruments, such as AVO Meters (Analog & Digital), Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, and Power Supplies

    Measurement and Control instruments SimulatorStudents are familiarized with close and open loops of control instruments using different measurement methods.

    Digital Workshop

    Experiments conducted at this workshop include:
  • Logic gates.
  • Combinational logic.
  • Digital Integrated Circuits.
  • Flip-Flops and Memories.

  • Electrical and Electronic Workshop Students practice conducting basic electrical and electronic experiments. .

    Electronic Troubleshooting Workshop At this workshop, students carry out different experiments using troubleshooting measuring tools.

    Electronic Measuring Equipment Workshop Students are familiarized with different Modern Electronic Measuring Equipment.

    Electronic Systems Workshop Students perform different tasks of using and troubleshooting a variety of measurement and control systems.

    Electronic Troubleshooting and Faultfinding Workshop Students practice performing troubleshooting tasks of electronic instrument devices using modern techniques.
