  KEY TRAINING AREAS

Training Objectives:

Through practical training and theoretical knowledge, this department aims at developing the skills and competence of students to enable them to deal well with all the processes involved in oil and gas movement.

The areas that are of special focus are:
  • Device Calibration
  • Measurement
  • Well Testing
  • Separators
  • Treatment
  • Storage
  • Tanks
  • Training Vehicles

To facilitate the achievement of the training objectives, the department is equipped with :
    • Central Workshop
    • Crude Oil Laboratory
    • Artificial Lift Production Equipment Workshop
    • Wire Line Simulator
    • Control Devices Workshop
    • Oilfield Model

Central Workshop Students carry out assembling-disassembling works of some pumps and valves. They are also trained to calibrate pressure and temperature measurement devices .

Crude Oil LaboratoryMainly used to train students on how to use different lab apparatus to determine crude oil properties.

Artificial Lift Production Equipment Workshop In this workshop students are introduced to various types of artificial lift equipment and their components.

Wire Line operations Simulator Lab At this lab, students use:

  • A computer to select a scenario (exercise) to carry out in their chosen well.
  • A Well-analyzer (Echo-meter).
  • A computerized (memory gauge and a chart scanner)

  • Control Devices Workshop

This four fully- automated panels workshop is used to train students on how to carry out different exercises dealing with various parameters.

    Oilfield Model

Real Petroleum Production Equipment are connected to form an Oilfield Model that is used to train students to conduct a number of troubleshooting tasks.
