Training Objectives:

The quality training conducted at this department aims at developing the technical skills of students in the field of welding and metal testing.

The training and practice focuses particularly on various key areas including:

Performing all pipe welding tasks.

Performing different welding operations in various positions.

Using all cutting equipment used in oilfields.

Conducting most destructive and non-destructive testing operations.

Carrying out different underwater equipment assembling-disassembling tasks at various depths.

Training Vehicles

To facilitate the achievement of the training objectives, the department is equipped with :

Arc Welding Workshop

Gas Welding Workshop

Metals Workshop

TIG/MIG Workshop

Arc Welding Workshop Students are trained to perform different types of welding positions, such as T-joint, Butt joint, Lap joint and Corner joint .

Gas Welding Workshop Students are familiarized with various equipment used in the workshop and are trained on:

Oxy-acetylene Welding

Oxy-acetylene Cutting

Metals Workshop At this workshop students are trained on: most tests used in welding, such as hardness test and bending test. Students are also trained on non-destructive tests such as ultra-sound and magnet inspections.
TIG/MIG Workshop Students practice welding different types of materials in different positions.
